The A says aaah...
Those of you close to me know I have been somewhat concerned over Evelyn's speech...or lack thereof. She says Dora and Diego - and actually speaks more Spanish words than English. She had shown no signs of knowing letters or basic words, like car. Then all of a sudden this week, she was playing with our fridge Leap Frog Letters Game and knew EVERY letter and their sound. She would point to one and say "S. Eesssss." So I would start pointing out letters on anything and she would say what it was! I was so happy. And she is starting to say normal words too, like ball and tree. I guess I feel a little better now - although I swear she is deaf because she NEVER listens to me...but my doctor said she just has "selective listening" towards me!

Don't all kids have the "selective hearing"? :) Glad that she is starting to say the sounds of letters & some words....they surprise you with what they really do know! I have the Letter Factory DVD made by Leap Frog if you ever want to borrow it. My kids used to ask to watch it all the time...it helped Carter a lot and it's a fun movie.
That's great news Kelly. We also have the Letter Factory DVD. Greg loved it. Now I play it for Leah.
We have it too - I think that is where she learned it! We watch it over and over again in the car!
The selective hearing thing won't get any better, sorry to say!
She was just storing it all up until she could perfect the letters and sounds!
The B says "b"! My kindergarteners LOVE this video and it does work! Although you may have a very smart little bilingual some day!
